I am a United States Air Force Veteran who proudly served his country from 1992-1996. During my time in the Air Force I learned discipline; a great awareness of my surroundings; teamwork; and most of all the pride of service. As part of Operation Southern Watch, I was actively involved in the Unit Advisory Council; I was a selected member of the Wing Honor Guard after an attack on our squadron’s quarters; I was responsible for providing support to not only aircraft operations but with comprehensive vehicle inspections as well; I was responsible for safeguarding military weapons in support of the Security Police Squadron; and ensured the proper security procedures were followed in the receipt and delivery of classified items.
Once my service was complete and I returned home, my passion for law enforcement propelled me into the field that I have successfully been a part of for almost 20 years. In 2006 I was hired as a uniformed Police Officer and in 2014 I was appointed Detective which is the position I continue to hold. As Detective, I am a Security Assessment Liaison between the police department and schools as well as businesses. As Liaison, I provide threat assessments; teach lockdown tactics to school administration and staff; and provide cyber-bullying/social media presentations to students and families. I am also proficient in surveillance which involves monitoring and gathering information to not only to investigate criminal activity but to also prevent such activity. This includes methods such as physical in-person surveillance and use of CCTV cameras as well as more advanced technologies such as license plate readers and facial recognition software.
Throughout my years of service and experience, both within the military and in law enforcement, I have been dedicated in my efforts to ensure the health and safety for all who I serve.
