As a current Police Lieutenant, I have been a part of the law enforcement community since 1999. I started my career as a corrections officer where I worked for two years. I then became a uniformed police officer in 2001. In 2003, I made a final transfer to my current department, where I hold my current rank. As a Lieutenant, my day to day tasks include, but are not limited to, being Tour Commander; scheduling; allocating resources to personnel as needed; and inter- agency coordination between divisions.
In addition to my day to day responsibilities, I am a SWAT Team Leader who is responsible for the direction and precision of the entire team. As the leader not only am I to communicate with the command post and relay crucial information but also make decisions based on the mission at hand which requires careful planning; briefing; allocating manpower; locating objects; prisoner and innocent civilian extraction; coordinating snipers; and calling for medical aid if needed. I am also a less-Lethal Operator which allows me the capability to use weapons less than lethal force but above basic physical force. Examples of the weapons would include a Taser gun, bean bag shotgun, pepper ball, or flashbang grenades. Lastly, I am a qualified Breacher which is someone who is able to gain entry into a structure or vehicle by force using specific tools based on the situation presented at that time.
Through the knowledge I obtained my extensive field work experiences and training, I strive for proficiency in all that I do and all that I represent.
